Human birth is action-dominated. Action has to happen anyway. If action is done filled with egoism/arrogance with worldly goals, using the world as the base and refuge then it will take you away from God. There will be accumulation of impurities, agitation, veil of ignorance inside you. Action is the same but now it is God-oriented, with Him as the objective and for His sake.
It is a very easy and comfortable situation. Keep on doing your actions. Take away the sense of egoism involved in it. I am not doing it, it is happening because of Your grace. Whether actions are worldly or godly the state of mind with every deed should be this. Sleeping, waking, eating, drinking, going, coming, all are to be done as an offering to Him. With Your grace eyes have opened and they are able to see with Your divine power. The meal is also Your gift. The meal is taken not with an eye on taste but accepted as His grace. Whatever I am and whatever I have is all Yours and due to Your grace; Therefore, yours is offered to you.
Singing of religious songs, reading of scriptures, sacrificial rituals, donation, austerity, meditation or any spiritual undertaking everything is due to Your inspiration and grace. You have made me capable, and competent to use this in righteous manner. To bring this capability on the righteous path is also not in my competence, my Lord. That also is Yours. This state of mind by itself is a strong basis of Karma Yoga. Bring yourself to this mental state. Those very actions which until now were a cause of problem, worry, bondage will become a means of experiencing the divine grace and gradually for experiencing a powerful inspiration for the attainment of godhood. In this kind of mental state the accumulated results of past actions will be washed away, the results of new action will not be there; the divine grace will be experienced; the mind and intellect will be purified; this in human life is the success of the attainment of divinity. This success the Lord calls 'Kurvansiddhimvapsyasi' Further in this series there is more magnanimity:
