16. Daivasursampada Vibhag Yoga

Virtues that turn humans into divine forms are called Daivi Sampada (Divine Assets) and vices that turn humans to devils are Aasuri Sampada (Demon Assets). Also consequences of both are well explained in this chapter.

(The Yoga of Classification of Divine and Devilish Qualities)

The Gita is the right direction of life. What is righteous and what is unrighteous? In the inspirations from the Gita the analysis is presented and supported by logic and reason. Human life is great; in this there is not the least bit of doubt. The Krishna of the Gita does not want that the human being should fall from his greatness. In this very human birth there is godliness and also animalistic tendencies. It is imperative to use discrimination; it would be proper to engage in thoughtful analysis. In the journey of life it is necessary to put every step with great care and understanding. In this context the philosophy of the Gita is of utmost help. The sixteenth chapter of this holy philosophical scripture is a warning as well as inspiration in this regard. The title of the chapter is - The Yoga of classification of divine and devilish qualities.

Yoga is the objective of every chapter. Each chapter has its title associated with Yoga. In the sixteenth chapter an analytical differentiation has been made between the divine good qualities and demoniac evil qualities. How the divine wealth of qualities causes the manifestation of the inner divinity and makes the human life meaningful and how the demoniac attributes open the gates of downfall and make one fall into horrible hell - this chapter analyses elaborately this subject at length.

In the first three verses of this chapter are described splendidly the divine qualities.
