The divine nature has been accepted as leading towards liberation and the demoniac towards bondage. O Arjun! Do not grieve as you have been born with divine qualities.

💬 Commentary English

This verse of the Gita through the medium of Arjun is an encouraging guidance for us! The signs of the divine estate will make one turn towards God! By being close to the Lord inner accumulated impressions are destroyed; the new impressions and deformations will not enter. Naturally and automatically, the embodied being becomes entitles for liberation. On the other hand, the evil propensities of the demoniac estate turn one away from the Divine, cause the accumulation of the impressions, deformations and dispositions inside. Birth after birth the embodied being remains entangled and bound by these. What a clear indication!

Arjun is the son of Kunti. The family tradition is the inspiration for the divine estate. But this indication is not meant just for Arjun. It is for all of us. Observe your source. The rainwater is in itself clean. On contact with the earth it becomes dirty. The embodied being belongs to the Lord. Keep your vision fixed on Him. Being the immortal part of the Supreme-is of the nature of consciousness, pure and a natural treasure of bliss! This is his natural state. If he remains in this spirit, he will be free from bondage and worry too. If he does not grasp this spirit and does not accept it too, then there is bondage as well as cause for worry. Take this guidance of the Blessed Lord as being made for oneself! The Lord is the fountain head of all virtues and we are His progeny! Then what has the demoniac estate to do with us? Awaken yourself! We belong to the Lord and we should abide in His spirit!
