sadbhāve sādhubhāve ch sadityetatprayujyate
praśaste karmaṇi tathā sacchabdaḥ pārtha yujyate
yajñe tapasi dāne ch sthitiḥ saditi cocyate
karma caiva tadarthīyaṁ sadityevābhidhīyate
Sadaa rehta aur shreshta hai sabse jo,
Sat kehte Parmatma aise ko.
Uttam karma bhi hai jitney yahan,
Sat shabd prayog hota wahan.
Nishtha jo yagya , tapp aur daan ki,
Kahi jati Sat hee hai nishtha yehi.
Karma jo kiya uss prabhu ke liye,
Woh bhi hai Sat aisa tu jaan le.
O Parth! 'Sat' as the name of the Lord is used in the sense of reality and goodness and for virtuous acts too. The steadfastness towards sacrifice, austerity and charity-that too has been said 'Sat' and all actions dedicated to the Supreme is also called as 'Sat'.

The sovereignty of the Supreme is eternal and forever. There will never be any absence of it at any time or anywhere. Neither is there any change in it nor can its destruction be ever imagined. In macrocosm in the form of the world and in microcosm in the form of the body His sovereignty prevails. If He is there then the body too is, the existence of the body is dependent on Him.
The Supreme is the highest; therefore even the emotions associated with Him naturally gain the highest status. This too is correct to say that the inclinations and thoughts which associate, which unite one with the Lord and take us close to Him, establish a relationship with Him, all these thoughts, inclinations fall under the category of noble emotions. In straight terms that which is associated or associates with the 'Sat' or Supreme-all that is the best. Not limited to this, even for praiseworthy deeds and good deeds fit for emulation the word 'Sat' is used. This is the Gita's noble, heavenly, practical thought; is a magnificent way of motivating the human being towards noble deeds so that life may move away from unreal-inauspicious and get oriented towards the real and auspicious. With the unreal is associated the devilish traits; there is an attraction for evil. On developing divine emotions for the 'Sat' Supreme, the divine attributes, goodness and auspiciousness naturally arises in life.
The activities of sacrifice, charity and austerity have been given prominence on several occasions by the Gita. The reason is that all these three can become the basis for developing the purity of conduct and for self-elevation. The inner faith towards these activities too has been termed as 'Sat'. With faith in them-such an attitude that these activities are the very foundation for my upliftment, the inner-self will be purified due to them, in the pure inner-self-development of divine emotions will be generated automatically.
Along with sacrifice, austerity and charity comes another supremely liberal inspiration from the Gita-'Karma chaiva tadarthiyam sadityevabhidhiyate' All actions dedicated to the Lord are also called 'Sat'. Action should not become field for indulgence! The goal of actions should not be sensual objects. Actions should not take place under the subjugation to ego and attachment. It is being done by Divine grace and for Divine grace. I am not the doer; His grace is causing it to be done. With activities, the motivating emotions should not be that for the unreal but should be done for the sake of the Truth Supreme; then such a task also will be 'Sat'.
