By any means the Blessed Lord wants to bring Arjun on the path of action. His view regarding the renunciation of work is being shown as baseless. First He spoke of Himself and now He is giving the example of the seekers of liberation. Invariably it is assumed that the seekers of liberation developing dispassion for the world, give up action. The one who has keenness for upliftment can be called the seekers of liberation. It appears that actions are hurdles in the fulfilment of ardent desire for upliftment and are a bondage. But this verse of the Gita is working as a clear motivating factor. Works in any manner do not bind the Lord. Giving this indication in the foregoing verse, the Gita's sermonizer has added an apt, beautiful and well-organized order.
Several seekers of liberation having known thus have performed actions in ancient times. It is misconception of the mind and figment of imagination, a departure from reality that actions are a hurdle to self-seeking. Those who do not understand the truth principle in essence or the indolent ones can affirm so! But not you Parth! Because you are of a thoughtful and discriminating nature. Do not make your capacity to put it to sleep. Understand the situation in the right perspective and in the manner in which in ancient times the seekers of liberation carried out works; you too give effect to the actions in similar manner.
Readers may be easily understanding that in order to attract the attention and gain concurrence towards the reality, the style of the Gita sermonizer is marvellous -inspirations, emotions, positive feelings, love, coaxing, intimacy-all of these. But side by side profound philosophy is also excellent. That in regard to self upliftment no stone is left unturned. The Krishna of the Gita is particularly vigilant.
