Who has controlled his body along with senses and inner-self and who has renounced all worldly indulgences, such a person without expectation while engaging in mere bodily action does not incur sin.

💬 Commentary English

This is a state of leading a spiritually disciplined life. The word 'Nirashi' does not indicate hopelessness but is an indicator of life free from expectation and disappointment. Expectation is the cause of disappointment. 'Yata chittatma' control on the body, mind and senses. The reins are in strong hands. The horses of the senses will on their own be under control, will tread on the path of truth. Awakened discrimination-this is strongest foundation of life. 'Tyaktasarvaparigrahah' renunciation of all possessions in every way. The renunciation indicated is in actuality the renunciation of attachment and egoism. Without desire whatever is obtained by God's will taking it to be His, using it in a rightful way is what is desired. The mind should not long for more and more and whatever is there that should not lead to clinging.

The inner state should be totally that of a void. The body is engaged in action. There is no indication of giving up action and it cannot also be so in the Gita. Which is divinely scented and fragrant, bouquet of yoga of action. These verses are the fragrance of the yoga of action.

To turn away from the Supreme is the greatest sin. Worldly, attachments, desire, egoism also turn one away from the Supreme and impressions of the actions are imprinted in the inner-self. These very impressions take the shape of impurity then agitation and gradually a veil. That is what is sin. When actions will be merely by the body-'sariram kevalam karma kurvanna'-when the mind is full of emotions for the Lord then why the state of sin is created-'napanoti kilbisam'. Now further experience the fragrance of the beautiful bouquet of yoga of action.
