bahūnām janmanāmante jñānavānmām prapadyate

Bahut janmo ke anth ka jo janam,
Leh gyanvaan usme meri sharan.
Prabhu ke sevaa manta na jo kuch,

After the end of several births, the man who attains the knowledge of the essential truth, realising that all this is Vasudeva, worships Me in this manner, such a great soul is hard to find.

This expression of the inspiration from the Gita requires a deep thought. Such verses force the great philosphers and thinkers to delve deeply in the thought churning process. 'Bahunam janmanamante' the birth taken at the end of several births! Human birth has been attained. The truth is that a rare opportunity has been acquired easily due to the grace of the Lord. If this can be taken with discernment then this human birth is a birth which takes place at the end of several births. It is not known since when, where and in what form the embodied being has been wandering in previous births. 'Punarapi jananam punarapi maranam' the cycle of taking birth and dying repeatedly has been continuing in past several births. It is definite that the self-elevation is possible in human birth only. The long repetitive cycle of births and deaths can be put to an end in human birth only. In human birth whosoever if he firmly decides to uplift himself, taking ignorance to be birth and cause for bondage, makes a firm resolve to lead life in the light of knowledge, then he can make this birth as the last one.
The issue which deserves a serious thought is that in order to make this birth as the last one, not to fall in the repititive cycle of birth and death the state has to be built-'Vasudevah sarvam iti' all is Vaasudeva; because apart from this if the slightest thought, contemplation, desire or clinging of it persists in the mind then the repetitive cycle of coming and going from this world will begin again! In the thoughts should be Vasudeva, in the vision only Vasudeva, in conduct Him only; in every act only He! Truth is also so. This is not any imagination. All is Vasudeva the Supreme; there is nothing other than Him. In every particle is His presence and every moment is pervaded by Him.
But this state and the great souls who have achieved this state-'sa mahatma sudurlabha'-such a great soul is very rare:
The attraction of worldly objects makes the human being outwardly oriented. The longing for happiness exists naturally in the mind. The same longing for happiness keeps the embodied being tied to the world. Ignorance and non-discernment keeps growing, and he thinks of the world to be all. In a rare one is kindled this keen feeling that whatever exists, exists due to Him, in Him and of Him. Without Him none has any existence anywhere or significance. On acquiring this knowledge only a few advance towards experiencing the Truth. There is engagement in the worship of the Lord and recitation of scriptures but inclination towards worldly objects persists. Visiting the temple, worshipping, recitation of scriptures and undertaking religious activities, pilgrimages, fasting-all these can take place; but to realise that all is the Supreme Vaasudeva-this state is actually very rare and hard to come across. Even then O seeker! Do not make the mistake of assuming that you will not be able to achieve this state. How is this state possible? Do not get disheartened! Hope and enthusiasm should be maintained. Awaken the intense desire for liberation, make your faith firm; howsoever rare this state may be it is not impossible to achieve. By effort, practice and faith it is fully attainable.
By the high means of devotion try to reach the divine. A rare state and the great soul who have reached this state are rare to find! Why is it so? Why don't all attain this noble state? Several can be seen to be engaging in worship, recitation of scriptures and religious undertakings; but why do we not find them to be in the state of Supreme Bliss? The Blessed Lord clearly states
