The one who uttering the sacred word 'OM' which is one word signifying Brahmn and remembering Me departs from his body that person attains the highest status.
The Gita is the scripture which is the essence of all Vedas. In this small scripture the skilful orator of the Gita has tried to throw light on every aspect relating to the self-upliftment in life. Every knowledge, every necessary means has been incorporated by Him in this scripture with dexterity. Take this verse for instance! Knowledge, meditation, yoga, recitation of mantras, remembrance, status-all are included in the Gita. He has given no opportunity to anyone to say anything. In accordance with everyone's bent of mind there is the means described in this scripture.
Speech, touch, form, taste, smell in the form of the senses of knowledge (ears, eyes, tongue, nose) and skin have to be restrained from becoming outgoing. To discipline them and to even withhold the activities of speech, hands, legs, genital organs-such a state is possible during meditation. Distancing from the activities and then trying to take away the mind which is going towards sensual objects through the medium of the senses, in the spirit of the verse 'isvarah sarvabhutanam hrddese'rjuna tisthati' (Gita 18/61) to establish the mind in the heart by restraining it from being outgoing! This will not allow the inner energies to be dissipated but will, on the other hand, strengthen it! The direction of the life-force will also be up ward and stably established in the head! Instead of the contemplation of sensual objects in the heart, the life-force should be fixed in the head. This through the means of meditation is the achievement of the higher state. The thoughts of sensual objects and anxiety cause the life force to move in a downward direction, makes the mind feeble; come and realise the stronger side of life. Move from indulgences towards yoga (union with the Lord). To move upward is the state of being established in yoga. Bring this into your life. Such enlightening inspirations from the Gita are infallible guiding lights on the journey of life.
This is a practical experiment to make the inner consciousness one with the cosmic consciousness during one's lifetime. The highest status is just not a mere imagination after death but it is the delight to be derived during lifetime. After giving up of the body, one in any case will remain secure. The mental state which the embodied being is in while living, that he will attain naturally after death. OM has been called the syllable incarnate of Brahmn! In the description of the glories of the Lord this indication is found (Giramasmyekamaksaram) (Gita 10/25) I am amongst the words the syllable OM. The description of Experience of the great sage Patanjali-
Tasya vachakah pranavah

The word indicating Brahmn is OM. It should be recited feeling fully and after understanding its meaning. OM should, however be remembered not with the spirit that it is only a word but the one syllable Brahmn itself. In this form Brahmn is moving inside us. For the seekers there is one essential indication too that remembrance is not just a subject of the senses but is the subject of the mind; for this reason the remembrance should be from the depth of one's emotions! While remembering there should be no other thought in the mind-He and only He! During the lifetime of the embodied being his movement should be in that direction and such an embodied being after giving up of the body can never go astray; the question of coming and going from this world will not arise at all; oneness-harmony and highest status in that very Supreme Divine-is the highest gain of human life!
On reading and hearing about such a state, it is natural to become aware of it! One will feel that this is what is worth doing in life; but to think that attainment of divinity and oneness with that Supreme divine is a state difficult to achieve; this is beyond our reach. That the mind should not feel dejected; towards this end is given the Lord's encouraging and enlightening inspiration:
