But O Son of Pritha, Arjun! The great souls dwelling in the divine nature, knowing Me to be the imperishable source of all existences, worship Me with total single-mindedness.

💬 Commentary English

Warning is accompanied by a glorious inspiration! On one hand by describing the demoniac nature one has been cautioned. Now by using the word 'tu' is described the distinguishing features of the divine qualities. That hopes, actions and knowledge of all are vain and that all are deluded by the demoniac and fiendish tendencies; it is not so. Those imbued with divine qualities are all together different from them-

The issue is the same and in straight terms; if the life is turned towards God then virtues on their own will originate. Good thoughts, good propensities, good actions, good conduct-with all these are attached the word good-this goodness stands for the Lord. If the Lord is there then only the propensities and thoughts will be divine, and if one is turned away from Him then demoniac tendencies get a chance to prevail.

In the demoniac nature, discrimination is veiled, thoughtlessness and indiscrimination prevails; but divine nature exhibits the awakening of discrimination. In this state beings and material objects are not all; this is clearly experienced that the primordial source of all is the Supreme; at the base of them all is the Supreme. All exist because of Him. Not just this, the world is destructible in nature; whatever is attained in whatever form, it will be transient and perishable in its result. It will not be attained for good but will be attained for being ultimately lost; then why should one dwell and revel in that?

Intellect will give importance to the Lord due to whom all is obtained and who is Immortal, who always lends a helping hand-worship Him; that too with single-mindedness. In whatever form worship is done it is always beneficial; but by establishing a firm relationship with the Lord, by making Him the centre of all expressions, withdrawing the mind from all sides and making it dwell in the Lord; the joy of worshipping in this manner is magnificent.

Come and let us deliberate on this verse seriously; resolve that life will never be turned away from the Lord and will be imbued with His spirit in every emotion; and with this kind of joyous routine:
