To perform action with the feeling of self-surrender is in itself a wonderful and distinguishing inspiration often the Gita. Leaf, flower, fruit and water are in the form of material objects; to offer them to the Lord is easy; object is taken and kept at the Lord's feet; but the spirit of offering described in this verse is distinct, deserves a special thought. As a matter of fact, in this verse the preacher of the Gita has included all practical actions done as dedication to the divine. Nothing should be done which is not done with intellect devoted to the Lord-all physical actions, and the spiritual actions of sacrifice, charity and austerity, everything else:
'Yatkarosi'-all actions done from the point of view of practical, commercial, pertaining to family as well social actions. 'Yadasnasi'-whatever is eaten and drunk and other physical actions and then through 'Yajjuhosi dadasi yattapasyasi' the actions pertaining to sacrifice, charity and austerity. Sacrifice, charity and austerity have in any case been given special importance in the inspiration from the Gita. All these three actions cannot be abandoned under any circumstances; they are essential duties. These too, you offer to Me. This spirit of self-offering is not impossible from any point of view nor is it difficult to adopt. Perform action, but do not maintain the relationship of egoism and attachment towards it. I am not performing it; it is being performed by Your grace and power, for this reason whatever is yours is being offered to You. Self-giving is the acknowledgement of the reality of the state. It is true only that in the presence of the electric current the electrical appliances are performing their respective functions. Self-surrender is a state of detaching oneself from the object or action. Self-giving gives lightness and carefreeness to life. While performing actions, eating, drinking and using everything, leaving the burden of it at the feet of the Lord is the glory of self-surrender. It is also feeling of gratitude. Everything is acquired from Him and it has to be offered to Him. We brought nothing with us and we not carry anything with us when we depart-all has been acquired here and from whom it has been acquired gratefulness towards Him. For this reason in our eternal Indian tradition spirit of surrendering to the divine what belongs to the divine, the spirit is of 'tvadiyam govind tubhyameva samparpaye'. The
offering of food to the Lord is also a part of this divine tradition.
What will be the result of this spirit of self-giving? Move ahead with due concentration with the inspiration from the Gita:
