The Lord towards whom we are directing our devotion who is that-this knowledge enables the mind in a better and speedier way to attain harmony with the Lord. This is what the seeker desires; this is what is required in the preliminary state by the seeker; how the mind will be attached to the Lord. Here is a beautiful indication for it:
The ultimate goal of life is the Supreme only. On making great attainments also the embodied being cannot experience everlasting mental peace nor can these worldly acquisitions lead to the attainment of the supreme goal. In the end mental stress and downslide is what the fate is. Absolute peace and the ultimate goal is the nature of the Lord.
The sustainer and nourisher of all is the Lord Himself. The human being is just an instrument; there should be no arrogance that I earn and live off it. Where do birds and animals, insects and flies service or engage in business? do your assigned work and do not worry about the future and neither be arrogant, because
'Prabhu'-The master of all, the Lord of all is only the Supreme. It may be the human being of the world, or any other being or the gods of the higher world-all are under His governance. The governor and Ruler of all is only the Supreme.
'Sakshi'-Nothing is hidden from the Supreme. In the past-future or in the present whatever has happened anywhere or is happening-all are in His sight. He knows all external actions and also the inner emotions; then from whom to hide and conceal! 'Nivas'-The Lord is Vast, Omnipresent. Nothing is beyond Him. That is why wherever and whosoever is there, they reside in Him only. Dwell in the world in this spirit-wherever I am I reside in the vast Lord.
'Sharanam'-The Lord is affectionate towards those who seek shelter in Him. To take refuge in Him is the basis of obtaining deliverance from sin, sufferings and sorrows. The refuge of the world is undependable and is also a cause which results in worry, grief, fear. That is why remain in this world without depending on it. Refuge and shelter should be that of the Lord.
'Suhrid'-If the world does any good to anybody; it is with an expectation of reciprocal favour. The Lord is the well wisher of the embodied being; what expectation will there be from the embodied being and why? In Him all desires get fulfilment and embodied being belongs to Him and owes his existence to Him. Make Him your own by considering Him to be your true, trustworthy and the best well-wisher and Be one with him.
'Prabhava pralayah sthanam'-The entire creation has originated from Him, exists in Him and the dissolution of the creation is in Him and by Him.
'Nidhanam'-The state may be of origin or dissolution of creation or its intermediate state; the base and the substratum is the Lord only. All is in his power!
'Bijamavyayam'-The primordial cause of the entire creation and its beings is the imperishable Lord Himself. The tree springs from the seed, but on sprouting the entity of the seed is lost. Creation has originated from the Lord but even after the birth of several millions and trillions of beings, His existence is as it is, complete and absolute.
Come and let us take refuge in that absolute and eternal power. When he is the destination of all, the governor too, the knower and seer of everything, the best well wisher of all, all owe their existence to Him, will attain dissolution in Him and are maintained due his support, then abandoning Him and seeking refuge elsewhere...! Why? Think.
