Other seekers by the means of sacrifice of knowledge, worship Me regarding Me as One whereas yet other seekers worship Me in My vast cosmic form as distinct and manifold.

💬 Commentary English

This is a distinguishing feature of the eternal Indian tradition that there is no insistence on following a particular way of worship and prayer for all. All are free to follow their own way of worship and prayer in accordance with their faith, spirit and mentality. If you observe the tradition of sages, scriptures and saints you will find that nowhere it had been mentioned that you have to follow a particular path. This verse of Shri Gitaji is an evident proof-

The goal is the Lord only. Whether devotion is of the Lord with form or towards the formless Lord; either way it is done with the feeling of oneness and unity with Him or experiencing Him all around and engaging in His worship in different forms. In the previous verse was described worshipping Him with a firm resolve, with affection, by singing His glories, bowing in front of Him and being devoted to Him; Here towards the attainment of the same objective the discussion is of the feeling of oneness! He is all! When creation was not in existence, He existed and when creation will dissolve He will still remain; even when creation exists there is no governing force which is different from Him! The one who has no independent existence apart from Him, what objection he has to accept in this manner that Vaasudev is all who exists. There is no existence of 'I' the ego. This is what is called worship without a feeling of distinction from Him! "You and You... You and You... You and You!"

There are some seekers who find this state somewhat difficult to accept. They first develop the attitude of seeing Him in different forms! The Supreme is vast and exists in each and every particle! This spirit is there that wherever I see I find you. But still, there remains the awareness of being an entity different from Him. I am meditating upon the Lord who exists in every object. He is my all; he is the substratum of my life. I am his servant and server! The spirit behind the mode worship described in the beginning of this verse carries with it an expression of non-duality; You and You-I am nothing, even if I am then 'Ayam atma Brahma' this Self is Brahmn. 'Aham Brahmasmi' I am Brahmn! Non-duality will also be perfected here but the feeling of duality will be there in the beginning! I and My Lord! 'Viswa toh mukhmam virat paramatma' The Supreme in manifold forms facing in every direction is immanent in every particle! This is a very simple, straight, clear and sweet way of worship! Accept this in life and bring it into practice; whichever method appears to be easy to adopt according to one's mental state, make it an inseparable part of life in a systematic way; then only the Gita will become the melodious song of life. What is His nature-life pervading in all directions, every particle of the entire universe; this is described in the following verses beautifully:
