💬 Commentary English

The words like 'satatam' (always) and 'nityayukta' (ever engaged) are found in the Indian eternal vedic devotion. Here the nature of devotion is not confined to a particular day or time; but continuously and at all times in oneness with Lord! One cannot remain always one with the world or any worldly object. It is not possible to remain ever one with the world, with any object of the world or any inclination. It is not possible to remain united permanently in this impermanent world. One can remain permanently united with the ever present Lord.

'Satatam kirtayanto'-the chanting of the name of the Lord or singing His glories whether alone or in a group; that too should be with such deep emotions that the name of the Lord should be experienced in mind, breath and then in each and every part of the body. It is possible. Though the singing of His glories in the form of outward activity may not be always possible, but the chanting of the Lord's name carries a glory with it. Just create some interest in yourself towards this. Sing the glories of the Lord with emotions and get lost in Him forgetting everything.

That one should develop passion for the divine and along with this the resolve should also be firm. Chanting of His name has to be done in any case; at no cost it should be broken. To attain the world so much of effort and labour is done! Inaction also should not be there in that direction. Resort to proper conduct but all efforts should be directed to attain Him, on attaining which there is nothing left to be attained. Striving should also be with humility. Efforts made with an egoistic intellect will not be fruitful. The surrender of the ego is the real prostration. To bow one's head is good; it also signifies humility; but with the head, the egoism should also be bent and be surrendered. It is essential. I am nothing and there is nothing which is mine. Whatever is there is you only and yours-this kind of spirit is life's carefreeness and lightness-accept it, bring this into your daily routine and bring into practice too! Is the nature of devotion the same for all? Is it necessary for all to follow this daily routine? The following verse carries the answer to this question-
