The Blessed Lord is revealing to such an extent the essential secret of His nature. The secret stands revealed but this secret continues to remain a secret for many. The intellect is so much enchanted by worldly indulgences that it intends to engage in pure undertakings like sacrifices, etc. that too in accordance with the rules described in the Vedas! For the herb which is the creeper Soma it is said that it grows in fullness in the bright fortnight leaf by leaf with the moon till the full moon and falls off leaf by leaf in the dark fortnight with the waning moon and becomes leafless on the last day of the dark fortnight. The juice which is extracted from it is consecrated by the mantras and then drunk!
By undertaking dedicated religious activities they accumulate virtuous deeds and also destroy their sins; they engage in prayer and reading of scripture but for what end? For the attainment of heaven:
The attainment will be in accordance with the spirit in which it is performed. When the spirit is of the fulfilment of desires the objective of sacrificial acts, etc. is also with a motive, prayers are also done with the desire for attainment of heavenly world, etc. that too will be attained; heaven will be reached and there the divine pleasures of the gods will also become available.
