O son of Pritha, Arjun! Whoever are of sinful births and even the women, vaisyas (business class) and sudra (labour class) community they too always taking refuge in Me without doubt attain the supreme goal.

💬 Commentary English

The Lord is equally present in all and is equal for all. In Him there is no partiality for anyone anywhere. A person is of vile nature because of his own conduct and action, on taking refuge in the Lord even he will be uplifted. The word 'evil nature' is used for the being of bad conduct in this birth. Here the word used is 'paapyonah'. Because of sinful acts in the past birth one has acquired lowly birth of a demon, worker of crematorium or that of birds and animals. What magnanimity? Even if they take refuge in Him then even they can reach the ultimate goal.

O being separated from the fire the cinder becomes coal; when it comes once again back to fire, the blackness will go away; the coal will become red hot. If any one moves away from the Lord then he will indulge in sinful and bad conduct. On coming under His shelter by becoming freed from sinful conduct he will elevate himself; there is no partiality anywhere-

The distinctions are man-made. By calling them evil births, the birth of women, vaisya and shudra the Lord wants to do away these distinctions. Hate the sins, which take one away from the Lord. When the Lord does not make any distinction between women, vaisya and shudra, then why should we discriminate between them? We belong to the Lord and we should remain as His. Seeing Him in all maintain equanimity of conduct towards them; sinful acts can never approach us.
