Amongst the Rudras I am Shankara and amongst the Yakshas and demons I am Kuber (the lord of wealth), amongst the Vasus I am the purifying fire and amongst the mountain with peaks I am Sumeru.
O Parth! Consider the chief priest Brihaspati as My manifestation amongst the priest, among the army generals I am Kartikeya; amongst the water bodies I am the ocean.

There are eleven Rudras; amongst them Shambhu or Shankar is the chief. He is the king of them all and also bestows beneficence speedily, is easy to be pleased and easily responds to the emotions dedicated to Him. That is why the Lord has called Him His manifestation amongst the Rudras. Kuber is the leader and treasurer of the Yaksha and demons; that is why the Lord has accepted Him as His manifestation! There are eight Vasus and fire is their king. Fire is considered to be the mouth of the Lord. Through the medium of fire the oblations reach the gods. Fire also purifies; that is why it is a manifestation of the Lord. The peak of Sumeru is higher than any of the other mountains and is treasure trove for gold and gems. The Lord says that amongst the mountains with peaks the highest mountain Sumeru I am.
I am the chief of the priests, Brihaspati, amongst the priests. Brihaspati is the priest of the clan of gods, and is very knowledgeable, is the superiormost amongst the knowledgeable and is the preceptor of the king of gods, Indra. Being the commander of the army of gods the Lord has called Karttikeya as His manifestation. He is the son of Lord Shankar and amongst the generals he occupies the chief place. Of all the water bodies there are, the ocean is the largest; it also is patient and grave, whatever may happen it remains within its limits. For this reason the Lord has called the ocean as His manifestation amongst the water bodies-
