🕉 English Translation

Bahut janane se tujhe labh kya,

Arjun tu sunn saar in sab ka.

Ek ansh mere mein hee tu samajh,

Samaya hua hai saraa jagat.

📜 Translation English

O Arjun! What need do you have to know all these in detail, when I exist supporting this whole world by one part of Myself.

💬 Commentary English

This displays a special intimacy of the Lord for Arjun. This language is used where there is great closeness. Affection, love and intimacy - grace is clearly reflected in the words. The solution to Arjun's query has also been made. Glories have also been described and now after relating all this, now the Lord has said that even on knowing more no benefit will accrue to Arjun. Whatever has been said in a nutshell that is for him it is worthy of acceptance and is significant too. O Arjun! Receive and understand that only-

This matter could have been stated by the deliverer of the Gita's discourse in the very beginning. He has elaborated in such a detail and in the end stated thus. This is the dexterity and uniqueness of the charioteer of Parth. If He had said this at the very beginning then Arjun would not have been satisfied. His eagerness to know would have got somewhat suppressed and would not have been solved completely. The reality is that this entire world is being sustained by just a part of His power. Krishna who had lifted the Govardhan of mammoth proportion on the smallest finger of His left hand (kanishtika), Krishna who could display innumerable moving and unmoving universes in His mouth, if this Krishna says so then where is the surprise involved in it?

Otherwise too, Arjun is especially dear to Him. This is the language of love, 'O ignorant one! What will you get out of knowing more? See in front of yourself. I am sitting here as the charioteer of your chariot. All is in Me and is due to Me, and is also sustained by a portion of My energy. If I will then by just keeping a small leaf in My mouth I can satiate Durvasa along with his thousands of disciples and all beings too. By keeping a little bit of the sand of Braj in My is mouth I can make the entire cosmos taste it (sand). All this, Parth, in any case is evident; just have faith!'

If you desire elevation then understand that by just knowing the Lord you will know all. Shruti states-

Even on knowing a lot if one does not know God then one knows nothing. Know one and all will be known.

To Conclude:

With this, the tenth chapter named Yoga of Divine glories is coming to a close. Several important inspirations given in it, are the unique feature of this chapter. The effusive affection of the Blessed Lord for Arjun makes the beginning of this chapter. As if some vendor of a sweet delicious eatable by making someone taste a bit of it, stirs up his desire for it. The Lord appears to be displaying the same spirit in this chapter. Description of some of the glories in brief and thereafter Arjun's expressing his eulogy for the Lord and expressing his desire to hear further is the joy of this chapter. The primal glory of this chapter is the narration by the Lord of several of His glories.

In this order the Lord has excluded none. Gods, humans, manes, water beings, terrestrial beings, and aerial beings, even to the extent that snake, lion, justice of the Lord of Death, in order to extract goodness out of evil even from the vilest act of the battle of the Mahabharata, i. e. game of dice has also been included. The matter relates to welfare of the all. The prime objective of the Gita is the upliftment of the beings. For this it is imperative that the Lord dwells in our thoughts. The eagerness of Arjun to hear about the glories was this only and the Lord replied in the same spirit that wherever the mind goes, then relate it to the Lord's glory. With those very subjects, and even then if the mind is not controlled then this reflection should be made that; Why get entangled in detail? Everything is in the Lord and by the Lord; in summary it can be said that there is grandeur in the world, but do not see it in the form of grandeur but as one of the glories of the Lord! This is true devotion-the basis of knowledge and delight of meditation.

Thus with the recitation of these divine names 'Om Tat Sat', Divine knowledge (Brahmavidya) and Scripture of Yoga in the Upanishad of the glorious Shrimad Bhagvad Gita, the dialogue between Shri Krishna and Arjun the 10th chapter named as the Yoga of the Divine Glories, stands completed.

Hari Om Tat Sat! Hari Om Tat Sat!! Hari Om Tat Sat!!!
