The soul principle resides inside; there is no room for doubt in it. The Blessed Lord in His divine speech has declared on several occasions this very Truth in unambiguous terms. If one observes one's own body carefully then one can find that the essential principle which activates this body is made up of bones, flesh and skin. That very Soul. When the life is lead indiscriminately and thoughtlessly then due to extroversion life becomes restricted to sensual indulgences and similar propensities and the inner-self is full of predispositions and vitiations. In such a state in the first place there awakens no eagerness to know or experience that soul principle; even if spiritual efforts are made in the form of worship and reading of scriptures, sacrifice, charity, austerity, etc. The state of experiencing the Self does not arise, as the discrimination is not awakened. Efforts and endeavours are not being made by understanding the reality. The attraction of sensual objects persists simultaneously because of which the inner state will never become pure. For the eager seeker this is an extremely inspiring guidance! The Soul principle is experienceable. The Lord Himself is offering such an encouraging inspiration; though the warning is also given simultaneously. That the inner-self does not keep getting vitiated by the predispositions and deformities; one has to exercise care in this context. Keep on striving with keenness by resorting to hearing, reflecting, practising! The four-fold effort in the form of-discrimination, dispassion, six endowments (control of mind, restraint of the senses, fortitude, faith, withdrawal, concentration) and desire for liberation should be resorted to. Keep the efforts, practice and faith firm. The Soul principle will not be limited to the reading of the Gita but will become an experience of life. This principle is not just the illumination of our life; but is also the vast, absolutely divine, the supreme illuminator, is the source and the centre of all kinds of radiance!
