Thereafter one should seek the Supreme which is of the highest status, where having reached none returns to this world. The Supreme from whom this beginingless creation has proceeded and extended, I take refuge only in that primal Supreme Person.

💬 Commentary English

One can observe Shri Gitaji's splendid and well-organized order of spiritual discourse! Till the time the boat tied with the rope on the river bank is not let loose, how can it advance towards its destination, how can it reach the destination? First the rope tied to the anchor has to be opened. Cut off the rope tied to the anchor of the world of desire, craving and affection with the sword of detachment. The ties from there are being snapped or being done away with; thereafter this state is reached.

The highest status is a synonym of the Supreme Person. The relationship of the world compels one to come time and again into this world. The ties with the world having been snapped, the embodied being will naturally feel himself to be abiding in the divine spirit. The relationship with the Lord is self-evident. The weapon of detachment making evident the reality of the associations of the world, will cause the world to be restricted to only worldly transactions. In the inner state will be the divine feelings, that very same state, while the body remains and on giving up the body the embodied being will naturally be in a state of oneness with it. There will remain no reason to return into the world.

It is necessary to be cautious here too. The attention should be centred not on creation but the creator of creation. Even if the world is appearing to be attractive, then tell the mind clearly, that the one whose creation is the world how enchanting will He be? Even if the world is appearing to be attractive and pleasant, then the same deliberation-O mind of mine! The One due to whom this entire world has been created and is sustaining how attractive and pleasant would He be? Deliberate and not leaning on the world take refuge in the Supreme. While remaining in the world do not be of the world. Searching for the Supreme will only be possible when one becomes His. The highest status is that of discovery of the Divine.

What are the signs if such a state reached? See the following verse of the Gita-
