💬 Commentary English

This verse is like a mirror for gauging one's own state. Which quality has a greater hold on us? One can easily assess through this verse. In this verse, it is narrated the signs which appear on the increase of satoguna-

Darkness should end and light should emanate and in that light it is seen clearly as to what is right and what is wrong? What is worth doing and what is to be given up? What is truth and what is untruth? If this discrimination awakens, the word 'sarvadvaresu' has been used. From all the gates of the senses goodness emanates. Senses should move towards virtuosity and distance itself from evil. Just as in light everything can be seen clearly; in the light of such discrimination goodness and evil become clear. One finds pleasure in religious company, service, remembrance of God, and virtuous deeds. The mind moves away from bad company. When all these start happening, then know that satoguna prevails.

Now follows the indications to be found when rajoguna is on the increase-
