🕉 Original Sanskrit Shloka

nănyam guņebhyaḥ kartāraṁ yadā draşțānupaśyati

guņebhyaśca param vetti madbhāvam so'dhigacchati

🕉 English Translation

Ban sakshi jo hi yeh dekhta,

Nahin karta koyi gunon ke sivαα.

Apne ko jane gunon se pare,

Paa letaa swarup ko woh mere.

📜 Translation English

When the discriminating seer does not perceive apart from the three attributes any other agent and experiences himself to be beyond the three attributes, then he attains to My status of being.

💬 Commentary English

One cannot see the reality while one is involved in the attributes. Observe as a disinterested witness. Establish yourself in Consciousness! One will feel that real state is not of being involved in the attributes. My nature is that of Truth, Consciousness and Bliss. The attributes are in nature. The activities of the senses are all being carried out through the agency of attributes. The Real Self (soul) is the non-doer. That is only the provider of energy. Place yourself in the spirit of the Self. I am not the doer, this truth will be clearly revealed to us.

The self is the actually the Supreme Self. There is not the least bit of difference. If one takes oneself to be the doer only then will the difference arise. The attributes should keep on performing their functions; observe them uninvolved and in detached manner. The experience of the spirit can be had then.
