Hey Krishna! Neither am I interested in victory nor kingdom and comforts. Hey Govind! Of what use will be this kind of kingdom or what benefit will such pleasures and life give to us?
For those for whom we seek kingdom, pleasures and comforts those very persons having renounced all hopes of life and wealth are standing here for the war.

Every thought of Duryodhan is limited to himself. 'Madarthe Vaykta Jivitah' (1/9) and others also having given up all desire to live are standing here. Though under the influence of delusion, the word usage of Arjun here is in such a manner that it appears as if only those who are fighting on the side of the Kauravas are the near and dear ones. But in fact Arjun's own brothers, his own sons, his own disciples and the very near and dear Shri Krishna are also on his side. Arjun is so much immersed in grief that he is not able to see this. He says I do not desire victory, kingdom or comforts. For whom did I desire these? They themselves are ready to fight leaving behind all desires and wealth. This language of Arjun is that of the extreme of delusion.
