ācāryāḥ pitaraḥ putrāstathaiva ch pitāmahāḥ
mātulāḥ śvaśurāḥ pautrāḥ śyālāḥ sambandhinastathā
etānna hantumicchāmi ghnato'pi madhusūdana
api trailokyarājyasya hetoḥ kiṁ nu mahīkṛte

All said and done, Arjun is coming back to the same excuse. The same kinsmen and relatives are overwhelming his vision. Again, and again he remembers the same thing. As the vision, so does the world seem. Delusion has enveloped the discrimination of the intellect. The reality has been left behind. The discrimination between righteousness and unrighteousness, truth and untruth has been separated. Arjun is unable to think that this war is not merely for his pleasures of the kingdom and prosperity for himself and for others, the war is not just for the limits of the kingdom, but for ending the reign of unrighteousness, unlawfulness and injustice.
If even the domesticated dog of the house gets mad and is dangerous for others then it has to be killed. If any part of body is affected by disease which can cause harm to the whole body then even that part has to be amputated. But Arjun at present is entangled in his own deluded and unreasonable arguments. Even if he is killed or he has to kill for the sake of the kingdom of the three worlds he will not engage in battle with the teachers, maternal uncles, paternal uncles, grandfathers, sons and grandsons, fathers-in-law. Arjun persists with his useless and baseless arguments further.
