🕉 English Translation

📜 Translation English

Hey Krishna! With an increase impiety the ladies of the family get corrupt and Hey Varshney! With the women getting corrupt there would intermingling of castes, this danger to the caste becomes a cause to take the slayers of the family to hell. The Disappearance of the rituals performed after death (Pinda and water oblation rites) leads to the departed souls being deprived of the rituals and oblations performed for the welfare of the dead which ultimately causes the downfall of the manes.

💬 Commentary English

See the extent to which Arjun's intellect stretches. It has been indicated that only when the family religion survives then only the sanctity of the relationship will be maintained. When unrighteousness replaces righteousness then it is obvious that immorality will increase and extinction of morality, religion, good deeds, modesty will take place. And further more, there is a confusion of caste. Children born out of the intermingling of the castes have their origin in immorality. How can one hope for the respect to limits of social conduct and religious traditions? Who will perform the rituals for the dead and who will perform water oblations for them? Scriptures declare that these rituals and oblations help the manes attain abode in the higher worlds and in their absence it leads fall of the manes in their respective worlds.
