On viewing the universal form of the Lord Arjun was wonder-struck; the hair of his body stood at its end and bowing down his head to the Lord with palms joined in reverence he said!

💬 Commentary English

When any object is not in one's imagination and all of a sudden is beheld or to the extent it can be imagined much more than that is viewed then astonishment is natural. Here there is no ordinary, material or earthly object but the Lord Himself and His vast form and in that too many things which Arjun had never imagined before; immediately on seeing it Arjun was amazed. What did I take it to be and here what is all this, how much and how? The same Krishna who is my charioteer, this form of His is so wonderful, so unique! On beholding it Arjun was thrilled and filled with joy.

The transformation of astonishment is thrill. The state of intense amazement thrills the body and the mind. If the amazement arises from the sight of the vast form of the divine, then the thrill would be extremely marvellous, unearthly, blissful and joy-giving; one can conclude by observing this mental state of Arjun. On seeing this form, Arjun bowed his head, and bending down offered his salutations.

There is a very meaningful and important tradition behind the offering of salutation in the Indian culture. The outcome of salutation is undoubtedly good; but with the head bowed with the forehead bent. The head stands for arrogance. Once arrogance is bent then there will be the beginning of spiritualism in one. That bending of the forehead can also cause the curved lines of the forehead to straighten by the energy of the grace of the Lord; maintain this belief.

After offering salutation Arjun spoke! What did he speak? Come and let us hear it too; see and experience.
