💬 Commentary English

This verse is a result of fear and nervousness of Arjun. He has an old association with Lord Shri Krishna; Arjun is His special friend. Even till this time He is sitting in front of him as the charioteer. But there this inquiry being made by Arjun is portraying his awestruck state-

You are the superiormost amongst the gods. I bow down to You. On seeing You in this form I am unable to determine as to why You are showing me this form of Yours. The soldiers of the Kaurav side and the heroes of our side too are entering You. You are the original being and all is due to You and under your influence. Even then at this time I am unable to comprehend that what is Your purpose behind all this. This working of Yours is beyond my comprehension. Make me understand; tell me, O Krishna! Be gracious to me, become pleased.

On such enquiry of Arjun the Krishna of the Gita is now seen offering clarification-
