📜 Translation English

Therefore, arise for the war and obtain fame; conquering your enemies enjoy a prosperous kingdom. All of them in any case have already been slain by Me. O Savyasachi (dexterous in using arrow with both hands) Arjun! Become just a mere instrument.

💬 Commentary English

In the eleventh chapter these words of the Lord are significant in terms of motivation; not just for Arjun; for all it is a universal message, an address useful for all. At the time of the war it is for Arjun warning as well as an address. Arjun was not desirous of engaging in warfare. The Lord stated in straight terms, "O Arjun! Dexterous in using arrows with your left hand you are just an instrument. The warriors who stand in opposition to you have already been slain by Me. You are unable to do even this much. Fame will be yours for free, you will be enjoying the kingdom which is wealthy and prosperous. The empowering strength will be that of someone else; you are just to use your left hand. The right hand i e. the main source of strength will be from behind; but even then, Parth! If you do not fight that will not be good."

For life too this verse is a direct inspiration. Neither should life have inaction; I cannot do it, how will I do it, I cannot do it at all-by presuming in this manner neither indolence nor dejection should be there. On the other hand, there should no trace of arrogance. Only if I act will it be accomplished, I have done it, it could not have been accomplished without me; it could not have been done. Such thoughts are also meaningless. The being is just an instrument, but the power, energy and power of consciousness is that of the Supreme. The work has already been accomplished by the Divine or it has to happen; it is His grace that we get the glory for it. But from the point of view of spiritual dedication there should be awareness in us. If fame is ours, even then acknowledge that the real doer is He! I am just an instrument.
