Till now, Arjun could get a pleasant and ordinary view of the cosmic form and could also get others to see it. Henceforth, in the next few verses the Lord is cautioning that this is not the only aspect of My nature. For the gentle, I am of a pleasant and calm nature, but if the need arises there is also a fierce side to My nature; that fierce aspect is such that a glimpse of it can scorch the entire world, can terrify the hearts of the sinful and evil doers! Arjun is now somewhat viewing this aspect-
There can be no visualization of any mutation in the Lord. Neither does He have birth, nor any change between the period of birth and death, nor is there death for Him. The hands which picked up the musical flute, those very hands uplifted the massive Govardhan mountain! By slaying demons like Putana, Shaktasur, Trinasur, Charun, Mushtik, Shishupal, Dantavaktra, etc. the Lord has already displayed His infinite valour and strength of His numberless arms. Along with this is described the fact that the sun and the moon do not have their independent existence, they are the eyes of the Lord and the mouth which is radiant like a blazing fire and the fierce flames emitting from it is burning the entire universe-
