sukhinaḥ kṣatriyāḥ pārtha labhante yuddhamīdṛśam

🕉 English Translation

📜 Translation English

The opportunity which has come unsought for the battle is like the open gate of heaven. O son of Pritha! Those Kshatriyas are happy (fortunate) who are called to fight in such a battle.

💬 Commentary English

Justice is on the side of the Pandavas. The side of the Kauravas is undoubtedly that of injustice and unrighteousness! The war also has been thrust upon by the Kauravas. That is why the sins of the war will not accrue to the Pandavas. For this reason, it is an unsought-for-opportunity by eradicating the growing impact of unlawfulness and unrighteousness from the society to gain glory. For eradicating unrighteousness if the Kshatriya by himself blows the conch shell for the war then also it is not wrong to do so; it is a means for him to attain glory if he survives the war and if he dies while fighting he attains the heavenly abode. But the Blessed Lord says–Arjun! You are really fortunate. You have been given an opportunity from the unrighteous side as an open door to heaven.
