Where to look for the soul principle? Not somewhere outside. Not in another world but within body dwells the soul always. 'Ahamatma Gudakesh Sarvabhutashyasthitah' (Gita 10.20). O Arjun! I am Self-residing in the hearts of all beings. One can take the benefit of natural intimacy and nearness. First in the form dwelling on the soul principle and after that gradually experiencing. The Omnipresent Supreme when He is dwelling in as soul in all bodies then certainly He is dwelling in this body too, consciousness within myself is also the same soul.
First make it a matter of inner acceptance, then bring it into your thoughts, fix your goal, and thereafter making your desire to know strong and by practice try to bring it into experience. Step by step proceed further. Do not remain fixed on the lower step. But do not leap straight above. The soul principle is inside, indwelling in all; hence it is dwelling in me as well. The desire to know should become steadfast immediately on reading this. Within me is the Supreme in the form of the soul then why am I deprived of realizing Him? This yearning will do a great deal of good in life.
The identification of the soul will be within; hence practise to look inside yourself. Inner strength will grow and self-confidence will awaken. Benefit will be gained from carefreeness and fearlessness. For sometime look within by shutting the eyes from the world outside. Soul principle is within, meaning bliss is within, knowledge is within, divine light is within and then ever present immortality. The soul is eternal, cannot be killed–'Dehinityamavdhyayoayam' oneness with the body is a cause for fear, sorrow, and worry; because the doubts relating to change and death remain with it. But its identification with the soul is the basis of abiding in sorrow-free state. Because in it there is no possibility of mutation, or of killing and death. Changeless, immutable, immortal and indestructible is the soul.
