na hi prapaśyāmi mamāpanudyādyacchokamucc hoṣaṇamindriyāṇām

avāpya bhūmāvasapatnamṛddhaṁ rājyaṁ surāṇāmapi cādhipatyam

Because even after attaining an unrivalled kingdom, endowed with wealth and prosperity or even the sovereignty over the gods, I do not find any recourse which can take away the sorrow which is drying up my senses.

💬 Commentary English

This statement of Arjun is correct from the point of reflection. It is true that even after attaining the kingdom of earth and heaven it is not possible to remove sorrow from its roots. But here, the mental state in which Arjun is making this statement shows his dilemma and doubts which have arisen within. Here this is not an issue at all, nor is the environment of a battlefield a proper place for it. In fact, despite surrendering to the Lord, Arjun is still imprisoned in the prison of his own obstinacy. He is unable to release himself from the same. That is why on seeing this mental state of Arjun Sanjay had to say.
