The normal way of worshipping God is recitation worshipping Him and engaging in rituals. All this is good too and in the initial stages it is required also. The higher state of devotion is-feeling of oneness with the Lord, no feeling of differentiation. I am not away from Him and He is not away from me. Intimacy, nearness! In the words of Swami Ram Tirth:
This is the natural state of the delight of devotion. Here one does not engage in worship but life itself becomes a state of devotion because the mind does not have its own separate entity. To whom mind belongs in That it merges. The conduct of the body goes on as per its destiny. It will continue but in that too, there is neither entanglement nor bondage. The cause of bondage is the mind. If the mind has immersed in the Lord, now wherever it is in whatever transactions and conduct-in reality it abides in the Lord, because principally it is so too. We are not where our body is but where our mind is:
A clear indication that worldly interactions are not bad nor are they a cause of bondage. Worldly interactions are not a hurdle on the path of meeting the Lord or attaining Him. Bondage and hurdle is because of the mind only. In the context of the practice of yoga of meditation, the Lord time and again states the necessity of subduing the mind and to merge it in the Lord. If the mind attains oneness with the Lord, further states will evolve on its own and the doors of experience will keep on opening. The further experience of such a seeker who feels delight in the devotion towards Lord and intimacy of the Blessed Lord towards such a seeker is described in the following
