O Arjun! The yogi who sees with equality the likeness of his own Self in all beings and also sees pleasure or pain with equality in all, he is considered to be the supreme yogi.

The description of yoga and yogi is being carried on in the last few verses. Wherever there was discussion on this issue it was never regarding external state but only regarding the internal state. Here is the climax of this state. Amongst the yogis who is the supreme yogi?
Till now the discussion is related to one's own state-the attainment of the highest joy; such a joy from where there is no displacement, to see divinity in all and all in the Supreme, etc. This is the splendour of the experience of the embodied being. But here the state is entirely different. On the practical and social level feel the joy of experiencing that state! If one experiences in oneself, it is appreciable; but what is required is to feel oneness and intimacy with all beings and take them to be as one's own self.
This also should not be limited to one's own family, caste, class, and also not just towards human beings only! Without any discrimination having an equal outlook towards all beings! One who sees his own inner consciousness as the same consciousness that is indwelling in all, meaning thereby that such is the oneness with that consciousness that he sees consciousness dwelling in all, as if it is his own consciousness. This is in a real sense the state of universal brotherhood and universal fraternity.
Not limited to this but to see as one's own, the happiness and sorrow of others! One social evil is found to be growing day by day. To feel grieved on seeing others happy due to jealousy and to revel in the sorrow of others. This is the irony of life and at the same time the lowest aspect of life! The Gita is a scripture which upholds the highest values of life. This aspect relates to seeing as one's own, pleasures and pains of others. The pleasure of others is felt as one's own pleasure and the grief of others is also felt as one's own!
Place yourself in the inner state of another; associate yourself with the emotions of another; it is the glory of life and also the highest ideal of humanity. One finds such examples in the life of great persons. Once Ramkrishna Paramhansa emerged out of river Ganga after bathing! Suddenly on feeling pain in his back he felt as if he was being hurt by someone somewhere. The disciples observed that at some distance some persons had captured a child and were using lashes on his back.
A philosopher saint of Bengal was unwell. He felt thirsty. But the doctors had advised against drinking a even drop of water. He asked for making a thirsty person drink a wholesome drink in front of him. It was done! He closed his eyes, opened them, smiled! He said that his thirst was quenched.
Another way of feeling oneness with others is this as well! That none should suffer even a little bit of grief; all should remain happy in all respects in every manner. Wishing well for all! This has been the ideal from time immemorial of our sages.
The Krishna of the Gita continuing in His efforts to make Arjun understand the state of yoga of action, Sankhya Yoga (yoga of intelligent will) and yoga of meditation has now reached the pinnacle of yoga. Amongst the yogis the state of the highest yogi has been described by the Lord in front of Arjun. Arjun kept on listening with a serene mind. Why should he not have done so as nothing could have been more joyful than this. Such an ecstatic state of yoga! But now Arjun's mind is filled with some pious queries. On one hand, such a high state and on the other, one's own state! He could not resist and he spoke up-
