You are the primal God and the ancient person; You are the supreme resting place of the world; You are the knower of all and that which is to be known and Supreme destination. O You infinite in form! By You is the universe pervaded.

💬 Commentary English

The dedicated faith of Arjun towards the Blessed Lord is clearly visible in the words of adoration uttered by him. Whatever has been related by the Lord in context of His real nature, those very attributes are being given special mention by Arjun while offering his adoration. This can be said to be a good state of dedicated conviction; whatever the Lord is saying that is being accepted by the devotee from the bottom of his heart.

You are the original cause of all the deities. You were there prior to the commencement of the creation and during the existence of the creation, You were the first, and also abide in the form of Supreme Lord. There was no time when You were not, and there will be no time when You will cease to be; that is why You are the eternal person. The entire universe and the beings in it exist due to Your support. In the past, present and the future there is nothing which is veiled from You. You are the knower of everything inside as well as outside and also are the essential truth to be known. You are the ultimate principle which is to be known in life; Vedas, etc. scriptures which advocate the knowledge which imparts meaningfulness to life that essence You alone are. The Highest status which is the ultimate destination to be attained by the embodied being, on reaching which there is no return, that Supreme abode You are. Each and every particle of this universe exists in You; there is nothing separate from You; there is nothing beyond You-
