After viewing the universal form of the Lord Arjun gives simultaneous expression to two kinds of emotions. On one hand delight, elation and on the other hand distress due to fear. Lord had never been seen in this form before; the Lord bestowed divine sight, showed his unearthly, stupendous and thrilling form of His; this sight is enthralling; but on the other hand viewing fierceness, fearsomeness in the vast form, even till now Arjun is unable to come back to normalcy; fear is still distressing him. That is why this prayer came from Arjun in a natural manner.
Arjun is unable to face the divinity as well as the fierceness of the vast form of the Lord any more; just as previously he had requested to see the universal form now he is requesting for the withdrawal of the same and at the same time he is requesting for the pleasure of the Lord by giving up the fearsome form-
